THE SUNDUNE

Living Room

The room that reads the whole condo in one frame.

The orange front door was not the safe choice. It was the right one. It comes through in every wide shot: that pop of rust against the geometric wallpaper panel beside it, the camel sofa centered in the frame, the balcony with the eucalyptus and bar stools visible through the sliding glass door behind it. The whole condo makes sense from this one angle.

Round walnut dining table, five black chairs, wicker pendant above it. The table seats five comfortably and six when everyone decides to stay for one more round. The kitchen opens directly off it with no wall between them. The peninsula counter serves as a pass-through and a bar when needed.

The art wall took longest. Four Palm Springs architecture prints in oak frames: the tramway station, a mid-century home with palms, two others that make sense together and would not work anywhere else. Ceramic wall hanging to the left. Every piece placed twice before staying.
